A beautifully built house does not stand on a shaky foundation nor can an athlete or fitness enthusiast perform to their best without the infrastructure needed to support activity. Pilates offers a foundation for yoga, running, strength training, sports and all other physical endeavors. Core strengthening, mind-body connection, precise movements, and stretching make up this series of exercises to create the basis for your fitness goals.

By incorporating into your routine you are adding a boost to your flexibility and joint mobility, engaging your muscles in a strong and gentle way, and will learn a routine you can perform almost anywhere.

Benefits of Pilates include abdominal strengthening, maintenance of good posture, and overall toning.  Pilates involves precise moves and specific breathing techniques. By making a regular class or two part of your routine you can start to realize the benefits Joseph Pilates intended to support the musculoskeletal system. See the schedule to find a time that works for you Finding well-educated instructors is a key to success.

Pilates can be an integral part of your exercise program, it helps you maintain balance, keeps joints flexible,  it curbs symptoms of arthritis and assists in weight maintenance. If you would like to learn more and are interested in incorporating this great system to your self-care program join a workshop that breaks down the movement and start learning the fundamentals.

As a Pilates Junkie myself I can attest to the benefits of mind-body connection, improved posture, reduced back pain, better core strength and a variety of other benefits. We look forward to seeing you in class or at a workshop. I try to practice 2 to 3 times per week.
