It’s that time of year that we start thinking of all the things we’d like to do better or differently for the new year to come. However, one of the most important steps to achieving your resolutions are setting REALISTIC goals. It’s human nature to want to select something over the top or drastic, but far too often they’ll leave us disappointed with a feeling of defeat.

When it comes to health and fitness progress, small consistent changes are the keys to success . Whether it’s eating better, becoming more active, improving flexibility, losing weight etc., make it a point to work towards your goals every single day. Progress is hard to see in the midst of accomplishing. Make sure to make your goals measurable so you can see how far you have come!

Did you know it takes 3,500 calories to make up one pound of body weight? This means you have to expend or be in a deficit of 3,500 calories to lose ONE pound. If 2019 is your year to shed some pounds make small, incremental  weight loss goals for the short term.  It is a lot more realistic and healthy for you internally to lose weight at a slow steady pace. This will also better enable you to maintain the weight that you lose.

This New Year we are running a 5 week challenge called “5 Pounds Down “. This challenge will give you a jump start to success by offering assistance to help you feel your personal best! It is $50 to participate and will be running from January 1st to February 5th.
