description

Yin Yoga is a very still practice with long held and relaxed poses that can vary in intensity. The purpose being to strengthen the connective tissues of the body (fascia, tendon, ligament, bone). When we apply stress, pressure and load upon the tissues it encourages the tissues to rebound by absorbing more water and producing more collagen. It’s believed the meridian system of Traditional Chinese Medicine, containing meridian points of acupuncture exists within our connective tissue, therefor when we stress along these energetic fascial lines we encourage energetic movement. This energy is called Qi. The springtime in TCM is represented by the element of wood. The organs and their meridian lines that need nourishing and are most dominant during this time are the liver and gallbladder. Let us seek to heal ourselves on a deeper level.
